I additionally touched upon knowing what your “motivated expertise” are. In this publish, I am talking about understanding what's important to you. For me, understanding your values might be one of the important (and frankly the least concrete) of all the evaluation parameters. Why? Because values touch the core of who we are, why we work, and what we need to get out of our work. And, if there is a mismatch between your values and people of the group for which you work, this mostly likely will lead to career dissatisfaction and potential illness and undue stress.
